Geronimo´s proudly presents The Black Wizards!!
The Black Wizards are entering a new era. The Portuguese fuzzy-psych trio just released a
new single “Killing the Buzz” (with new full-length album in 2026 via UK label Hassle
Records), signaling a bold step forward in sound.
Recorded by Cooper Crain (Cave, Bitchin Bajas) — whose production work spans artists such
as Stereolab, Ty Segall and Natural Child — and mastered by Mikey Young, one of the most
sought-after engineers in alternative music, the upcoming LP captures a band in full
transformation.
The album marks a clear shift toward a rawer, more garage-driven sound, built around
direct arrangements, live energy and a stronger sense of urgency.
While still grounded in psychedelia, the new material strips things back, focusing on
immediacy and impact. The songwriting leans into more direct and interventionist
lyrics, reflecting a band more engaged with the present and less interested in
abstraction.
The Black Wizards have continued to tour extensively across Europe, playing festivals such
as Krach Am Bach (DE), Høstsabbat (NO), Roots & Roses (BE) and SonicBlast (PT),
alongside several headline tours.

”New favourites for sure… Propelled by relentless riffs and underscored by a
fierce blues-driven groove, ‘Killing The Buzz’ offers a gloriously energised, yet
impossibly cool, slice of rousing garage-rock.” – Get In Her Ears
”A band that has taken its time, reshaping, refining, stripping back, and arrived
exactly where they needed to be. The buzz is very much alive.” – Loud Women
”A wide-eyed merry-go-round of classic rock riffs, Hives-y absurdism and
psychedelic grooves” – The New Cue
