Geniune Leather – Book Release
Geronimo’s FGT are happy to welcome Jan Utecht to celebrate his new photo-book ”Geniune Leather”. We’re happy to host the event at our upstairs bar Topanga on Friday the 25th of October.
Jan Utecht is Berlin based, musician and photographer. When he’s not running his bookstore in Berlin, or fronting his Black Metal band Occvlta, he captures moments with his camera. From 2017-2020 he made it his mission to photograph rockers and metal heads in their homes and in their beds, sporting the iconic piece of clothing that’s more than a garment; the symbol of the scene, namely the leather jacket.
Jan travelled far and wide across Europe and North America for the project, and the photos are taken on tour, before shows and even the day after shows had been played and heads had been banged.
The book features a veritable who’s-who of the hard rock & heavy metal scene of the 2010s, including familiar faces from the posters of Jan’s own childhood boy’s-room, such as members from Darkthrone, Entombed etc.
During the night Jan’s book will be for sale, and the opportunity to get it signed. Behind the DJ booth we will find Sven ”Svenom” Nilsson playing rad tunes all night.
